We believe every child deserves hope in a bright future.
Esther’s Hope Nursery and Primary School is located southeast of Mbarara, Uganda in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement. We offer free education and a nutritional program for over 450 local students.
Student eligibility is based on having no surviving parent (orphan), having only one living parent, or extreme economic hardship. Our mission is to provide quality education resulting in futures with equitable opportunities.
Our staff include our headmaster, teachers, school counselor and a school nurse who are dedicated to providing a space for children to learn. As a private Christian school, our staff demonstrate the love of God for all His children.
Education opens doors.
Our students are offered free education. No fees. Through donors like you, we reach vulnerable children to offer them and their families a pathway towards a bright future.
Nutrition nourishes minds.
Our school nutrition program offers freshly prepared lunches for every student. This means no student goes hungry.
However, we need your help to meet our goal of providing breakfast for every student beginning in the 2026 school year. We’ve seen the difference it makes in our nursery students and are excited to bring it to the rest of our students.

Help us tell others about the amazing work God is doing at Esther’s Hope. We are growing every year and are trusting God will provide to meet the vision he has given us.
“God gave me a vision as a young girl. One day I would work to take care of His children. Children who are in need and deserve to grow, learn and have hope”.
